Disclaimer and terms of use
Effective November 7, 2026. By using food.med-rise.com you agree to the terms below.
Not medical or nutrition advice
Recipes, “Health benefits” sections, food-science notes and nutrition figures on this site are general information for home cooks. They are not medical, dietary or nutritional advice and are not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Evidence ratings describe published research in general, not what a dish will do for you. If you have diabetes, heart or kidney disease, a food allergy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication, or follow a medically prescribed diet, ask your doctor or a registered dietitian how a recipe fits your needs.
Nutrition figures are estimates
Numbers marked “estimated” are calculated from typical ingredient values and vary with brands, substitutions, portion sizes and cooking method. Don’t rely on them where exact figures matter.
Allergens
Recipes on this site use common allergens, including milk, eggs, wheat, tree nuts (such as walnuts, pistachios and almonds) and mustard. Always read ingredient labels, since packaged spices and blends can contain allergens or be made alongside them.
Food safety
- Cook poultry to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), and keep cooked food out of the 40–140°F (4–60°C) range for no more than 2 hours.
- Never eat raw or undercooked dried kidney beans: they must be soaked and boiled hard. Canned beans are already cooked.
- Use pressure cookers and Instant Pots only as the manufacturer’s manual directs, including fill lines and pressure release.
- Homemade pickles (achaar) are not tested shelf-stable canned products. Use clean, dry jars and utensils, refrigerate once ready, and throw out any pickle with mold, an off smell or a bulging lid.
- Hot oil, sugar syrup and steam can cause serious burns. Keep children and pets away from the stove.
